Calypso support
Is Calypso a supported program for using a Spaceball 5000 USB.
I am using SpaceExplorer with Calypso 5.0 and it works OK but you can't have more than one open program.
From Calypso release information:

Calypso Support - Supported Applications
To clarify the question of supported applications a bit, when applications like Calypso add support for 3D devices into their application, they do not need to contact or work with 3Dconnexion to do this. They only need to download and implement our Software Development Kit.
When a software developer lets us know they have added support for 3D devices into their application, it is added to the list of supported applications. When they submit their software application for testing and our engineers verify it works correctly with the 3dconnexion devices,it is listed as '3Dconnexion Certified'.
The software developer decides how our devices work in their application - so it can vary from one application to the next. It is only in applications like SolidWorks, SketchUp, Maya - the applications that use 3Dconnexion plug-ins or add-ins - that 3Dconnexion software controls the navigation.
In some cases there are options or modes within the application that need to be used with 3D devices. The application's technical support - in this case, Calypso tech support - is the place to go for that information.
Another point about supported applications is the version numbers. When a developer adds support for 3D devices beginning with a particular version, they do not work in earlier versions of the application. Their technical support is the correct resource for finding whether the version you are working with has 3D device support.
