Support for Bentley Microstation and Navis Works?

Post by greenalien »

Autocad support is good to have but how about supporting Bentley Microstation? It's one of the most-used CAD programs in the construction industry with excellent 3D modelling capabilities and I'm sure you'd sell a lot more products if it was supported! Same goes for Navis Works which is also currently unsupported... :(

Support for Bentley Microstation and Navis Works?

Post by agoenczi »

Hi greenalien

3Dconnexion discontinued to offer support for Bentley Microstation in the new software releases. However, you can download 3DxMicroStation_v2-1-9_win32.exe from our archive.

JetStream has built-in support from NavisWorks.

Thanks for pointing me at the Microstation driver - I've now had time to test it with Microstation V8 and it works fine :D

I'm also interested in the Microstation driver - but I cannot find where to look for it...? Where do I access your archive?

Furhtermore; why have you discontinued your support for Microstation? As mentioned - this is a widely used 3D-tool...?

Hi bcskbge,

Go to our download page (or click here), select your device and then the "Archive" category.

This if fine for my old Spaceball 4000 but now that I have upgraded to the Navigator to get functionality with other graphic programs, the legacy drivers are not available.

I know that it makes sense since they are not legacy drivers for this new device, but why did you stop supporting Benltey products? I use both about the same amount and would love to get the functionality within the Microstation environment.

I have just bought and received my new Navigator and was expecting this to be fin however I have just accepted a new job which is using Microstation instead of AutoCAD.
You say to go to the archive area to download the Microstation driver but it is not listed under the SpaceNavigator Downloads.
I'm really a big newbie to this so please help.
If I choose one of the other products and it shows the microstation driver can I use that?

Hi bonners,

Yes this is the plugin mentioned by agoenczi. You can try that plugin and share your experience here.
