Post by CME »

I'm connecting via microsoft remote desktop to thath virtual machine and I like to you the spacenavigator mouse.

Do anybody knows how to do?

Remote desktop

Hello CME,

you can use the 3D mouse with VM Ware, but not via Microsoft Remote Desktop. The only remote software that supports the 3D mouse is HP's RGS as far as I know.

Hello,

Is it possible with Microsoft Remote Desktop running on win7 64bit ??
I don't have choice.

I heard of usb_over_networks but it seems that it does not work whit 3D mouses.

Remote Desktop

Hello -

The difference in using a 3d device remotely and using other USB devices is that the remote solution needs to be able to recognize a 3d device. Microsoft's Remote Desktop is not.

RGS Workstation Edition Version 5.0 [Remote Graphics Software] from HP is certified with 3Dconnexion devices and is listed on the Support Applications page.

Hello,

Thank you for your answer.
Unfortunately for me, the company I work for chose the Microsoft Remote Desktop solution.
So there is no way to find a bridge through the network.

Wondering if there have been any updates on this.
I'm using Altium Designer on a machine through remote desktop.

Hi dbvanhorn,

There's a topic with some information here. The current solution is to use a "USB-over-IP" solution from a third-party vendor.

Yet I can find no page where one can purchase RGS. Seems to only come preinstalled on a limited number of HP devices.

Yes, it's a HP software. Please contact HP for more information about it.
