Hi,
My name is Roi and I am from Israel.
I have the Space Navigator 3D device and I have a problem using it in SolidEdge ST3.
It works properly on the test demo but not on a Solid Edge window. I can't open the properties or any window in the solid add in except the help window. None of the other functins is active.
I am opening the solidedge program as an administor because of network and license issues.
Can you help?
Thanks

Hi Roi-r,
I suggest you close Solid Edge and do a clean uninstall and re-installation as described here. It is important that Solid Edge is closed when you do the installation.

Re: Solid Edge ST3
Hi Roi-r -
Your description also suggests a permissions mis-match . You can fix that either during the clean install or after it.
If your network and license requires you to run SolidEdge with elevated permissions [Run as administrator], the 3Dconnexion software needs the same permissions for the 3DxSolidEdge add-in to communicate with SolidEdge.
Method #1 [add the permission when running the installer] - With SolidEdge closed , stop the driver, right-click on the 3Dconnexion installer saved to your PC and choose 'Run as Administrator'.
OR
Method #2 [add the permission to the .exe]- With SolidEdge closed, stop the driver, locate 3Dxsrv.exe , add the permission then re-start the driver. [Start, All Programs, 3Dconnexion, Driver, Start Driver| Stop Driver]
Right-click 3dxsrv.exe - Select Properties , then Compatibility and check only 'Run as administrator' .
On a 64-bit PC the default location is C:-->Program Files-->3Dconnexion-->3Dconnexion 3DxSoftware-->3DxWare64-->3dxsrv.exe
The driver will need to be re-started manually [Start Driver] before opening SolidEdge using this method since it usually starts during Windows startup.

Re: Solid Edge ST3
Hi All,
I have exactly the same problem in Solid Edge ST2, i followed the instructions and running the 3d mouse in a administrator mode. Still it won't work.
Is there anything else i could try?
Drivers are up to date (windows 7 64bit).
I've restarted the computer, no difference.
The mouse works great during the training exercise.
Regards jeroen
