Using USB mouse as COM

Post by hoyodepelempito »

Hi.

I installed a Spaceexplorer mouse in Windows 8, 64 bit. I want it to work with a software called ArcGIS, version 10. This version requires that the mouse appears to be connected through a serial port. Is there any solution?

Any idea is welcome.

Thanks.

Beginning with ArcGIS 10 the 3d navigation has been added to the ArcGIS applications so that an add-in is no longer needed.Current ArcGIS Explorer versions have a setting to enable 3d devices. Click the ArcGIS Explorer pearl/button > ArcGIS Options > Navigation then check the box to "Enable 3D navigation devices"

As long as your device is working outside ArcGIS - for instance in the 3Dconnexion JetDemo- then ESRI Technical Support is the correct resource for questions about using a 3Dconnexion device inside ArcGIS.
