Hello Durmaz -

When the view buttons are not working it is usually because the add-in installed is not the one for SolidWorks 2014. With the SolidWorks 2013 add-in installed , navigation but not button mapping is available in SolidWorks 2014.

Download the current driver from our downloads and install it with SolidWorks closed.

If you already have the current version - Rel. 3.17.7 - installed you can choose Change | Repair in Windows Control Panel - Programs and Features - 3Dconnexion with SolidWorks 2014 closed to install the add-in. You can find your release version in 3Dconnexion Properties under Help|About

1.With SolidWorks closed , stop the driver [Start, All Programs, 3Dconnexion, Driver, Stop Driver], then locate 'Start 3DxWare' in your Startup folder.

2.Right-click 'Start 3DxWare' - Select Properties , then Compatibility and check only 'Run as administrator' .[Start, All Programs, Startup| Start 3DxWare]

Restart SolidWorks and check to see if you have te ability to use the keys.

If further steps are needed, you can use the clean install steps to remove all of the profiles registry entries and 3dconnexion software to return the device to its original behavior. [http://www.3dconnexion.com/faq/28] . The path listed for Vista is also correct for Windows 7. After removing the registry keys listed , one additional registry key needs to be removed from the SolidWorks add-in keys. In 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE' and under 'Software' and 'SolidWorks' there is a folder named 'AddIns'. In the 'AddIns' folder the registry key for the 3Dconnexion add-in is the one that begins with "7B9E5...". Select this key on the left then look at the values on the right. You should see 3Dconnexion listed there. This will confirm that you have located the correct registry key that needs to be deleted .[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE|Software|SolidWorks|AddIns|7B9E5...] Complete the clean install steps and make sure SolidWorks is closed when the 3Dconnexion software is installed.

I'm having the same problem with SolidWorks 2014. The initial post does not mention the model. I have a Space Pilot running 3.16.3. This is the latest version available for this model. I tried running as admin and doing a repair as suggested with no success. Can I run the newer drivers with the old Space Pilot?

Yes you can. I just installed 3.17.8. Buttons and mapping are working properly now.

Hello Toops,

we would like to clarify that SpacePilot was discontinued in March 2010 and software support was maintained for three years. This means we continued to test the product with all new drivers until March 31st 2013.

After this date, we did not take any steps to stop SpacePilot working, but it is not tested with newer drivers. This means we do not list these drivers when you search for SpacePilot on the driver download page. However, if you download our latest driver (3.17.8) by searching for another product (e.g. SpaceMouse Pro or SpacePilot Pro), there is a chance it will work fine with your SpacePilot and SolidWorks 2014. Please be aware that because SpacePilot is not tested with this driver we will not be able to offer further technical support (but we hope that is not necessary).
