Move tool bug in Max still not fixed in new driver v10.2

Post by rogerchristmas »

Hi,

Just discovered that the latest 10.2 driver only partially fixes the erratic move tool problem - ie; selecting an object in Max with the move tool while rotating the Spacemouse (and probably other units) the erratic sliding/jumping issue is still there!!! When object does slide away of jump around however, it is NOW possible to use the undo in Max to get it back to the previous position - well that's some improvement at least.

To really fix this sliding/jumping problem for good I made a suggestion in a earlier post that we need to have the driver DISCONNECT from the selected object when rotating the view - just like in driver version 3.17 that works perfectly up to Max 2014 only.

Please 3Dx can you fix this so it behaves the same way as in 3.17? Surely the clue is in the code of that older driver?

Please report your findings here.

Update: In driver version 3.17 I noticed that if you RE-SELECT an object AFTER it has been disconnected and move it again when rotating the view, then the behavior is the same as in v10.2. So the trick really is to get that disconnection happening.

Update: losing undo in max is back again! The only way to get the undo feature to return is to nudge the object to a different position then undo works again. Anyone else???
