Office apps not working with Space Mouse Wireless

Post by polaris7 »

Hi
I have found a couple topics about 3D connexion and working with MS office apps.
How are you doing that ?
I have :
Space Mouse Wireless
MS Office 2013
On Windows 8 (64bit)
Recently I have installed last version of driver:
3DxWare64_v10-2-4_r1923

Space mouse work great with cad system but when I open excel and I want Pan or zoom… nothing.
I can only use Setting button (left button on space mouse) or 100% zoom (right button on space mouse)
NO ZOOMING, NO Panning.
I tried reinstall drivers and also installed it on computer with similar MS office and windows 7 (x64). It doesn't worked.
Where is trick, what should I do ?
I noticed that Space Mouse doesn't work with Internet Explorer 10 …. ?

Best Regards
Mathew.

Hi polaris7,

have you tried if the 3D mouse works with our Viewer? You can launch it from 3D Mouse Home.

Try if resetting the configs solves the issue. See here how to do that.

Hi Uta
I have check that but SpaceMouse work with viewer very good.
Did I have any add-in or plug-in in excel 2013 after space mouse driver instalation (3DxWare64_v10-2-4_r1923) ?

Excel2013>File >Option > Add-IN ... (there is no any information about 3D connexion).
Mouse doesent work with excel 2013.

Best regards

No plugin is installed for Excel.

Did you try if cleaning the settings helps?

I have encountered the same problem. Spacemouse wireless works fantastic in everything except office 2013 apps, no scroll, zoom capability at all in any of the office apps though.

Hi both,

when you are running Excel please move the mouse cursor over the 3Dconnexion icon of the driver in the system tray and wait for the tooltip window. It shows the connected device(s) and the active application and the configuration file that is used for this application. Please let us know what you see.

Then open the properties window of the driver (right click to the icon and select "Open 3Dconnexion properties"). At the top of that window what does it say? You should see the active application here, too. Like "Microsoft Excel".

Thanks UtaSH. When I hover over the icon, it says "SpaceMouse Pro Wireless (92%) excel.exe (Excel.xml). When I hit open properties, it does show Microsoft Excel. It just doesn't actually do anything in Excel. For Word, its winword.xml

Now I might have just figured something out- I decided to hit "Restore Defaults" in properties in both, and guess what? I can scroll around. There is no zoom, and if I click on one of the zoom options, the scroll stops working, so now I'm curious - is the behavior in Office supposed to just be scroll, kind of like chrome, or is it supposed to be more like that of Adobe Acrobat?

Actually, I think I have this figured out! Rotating clockwise/counter-clockwise seems to zoom in both excel and word. Thanks so much for the e-mail, looking at the properties made me rethink to restore the defaults and explore how it might behave - apparently it's not excatly like adobe, but really happy to be able to get the basic navigation using my 3d mouse, easier on my hand than the regular mouse.
