Spacemouse Pro and VPN
I want to use my Spacemouse Pro (firmware 4.34, driver 6.17.6, release 3.17.6) on my laptop (Windows 7 Pro) while working via a VPN connection on my workstation (NX10, Windows 7 Pro). But when I login on my workstation via my laptop and the VPN, the Spacemouse Pro isn't recognized. Anybody familiar with this problem and the solution to it?
Re: Spacemouse Pro and VPN
Hello FrankP -
A VPN connection or a Microsoft Remote connection does not forward the output from USB devices - it uses only your standard mouse and keyboard. The workstation is not able to recognize the device because there is no device on the workstation side and nothing forwarding the output from the SpaceMouse Pro connected to the laptop.
We recommend only direct connection due to the latency and bandwidth issues involved with remote use.
To try working remotely you would need to use software that supports forwarding 3D mouse output like Citrix XenDesktop or HP RGS.
