Event insertion?

Could 3dconnexion please make a driver which generates arbitrary HID events from SpaceNavigator actions? I have a number of applications which I'd like to be able to use my SpaceNavigator with. There is no way I can realistically expect the developers/companies to support this wonderful device based upon my requests alone.

A number of other devices use this to very good effect: Griffin PowerMate, Contour ******. This lets users take advantage of these tools without having to convince the corporate developers to put in the time to support the device.
