Change zoom to orbit in SketchUp

Post by JohnDC »

Howdy, everyone. I just purchased the SpaceMouse to use in SketchUp Pro. Right now all the SM can do is zoom in and out when I twist the cap. I am wanting to change this to orbit and not zoom. How do I do this? Thanks!

Hi JohnDC,

that sounds as if the extension for SpaceMouse in SketchUp is not installed. Did you install (or repair) the driver after you installed SketchUp?

To check if the extension is available and loaded in SketchUp follow these steps:
  1. Open SketchUp
  2. Open the menu "Window" and then select "Extension Manager"
  3. Verify that you have an entry for "3DxSketchUp and that it is "Enabled".
Let us know what you find out.

I spoke with 3D Connexion and I had the wrong driver. I have High Sierra on my Mac but the latest software is for the newer OS. Once I installed the older driver everything started to work. Thanks for your help!
