Autocad 2006 and Solidworks 2008 toolbar missing

Post by stevemac »

Have just installed Solidworks 2008 on a PC which has Autocad 2006.

I had previously successfully installed the necessary driver and plugins to use Spacenavigator for Autocad 2006. This operated fine and enabled me to pick a custom datum after clicking the toolbar.

After installing Solidworks I have checked the operation of Spacenavigator for Solidworks and this appears to be fine.

However in Autocad I have lost my toolbar so that I cannot no relocate the datum. Also I had to force the add-in arx file to be loaded. Spacenavigator operates OK but I can't re-datum which on a large assembly makes it very difficult to use.

Do you have any ideas how I can get the toolbar back?

I have uninstalled and re-installed the drive software 3DxSoftwarePE_v3-5-6 then re-installed the addin 3DxAutoCAD16_v3-2-9_win32

Thanks

Steve

Go to our website and download the Pre-2007 Autocad plugin.
www.3dconnexion.com
support> Driver Downloads> Select your device> Choose archive>
Choose Pre-2007 Autocad plugin

Save the file (In case you ever have to reinstall drivers)
Close all running applications before installing.

Run the installation.

Autocad 2006 and Solidworks 2008

Post by stevemac »

Hi Fred,

Have tried this already. The spacenavigator works ok in Autocad but I just can't re-datum it as I have no 3dconnexion toolbar to click on.

Any other ideas on how I can get the toolbar back?

I would try uninstalling the driver and plugins.
Next open Autocad verify there is no old entries to launch the acad3dx16.arx or any other acad file.

Close out of Autocad reinstall the latest driver.
Choose custom, uncheck Autocad.

Next install the pre 2007 plugin.
Verify the 3D driver is running open Autocad
If the plugin is not loaded
You can load the magellan.arx file under menu "Tools - Application" or "Assist - Load Application".
In the "Startup Suite" you can enter the acad3dx16.arx to automatically load the 3D-Controller interface.
