Function Key Macro not Working

Post by sleedy »

When I create and save a "custom function" and try to create a simple F2 or F1 key stroke my windows xp won't respond? Is there a trick to getting F keys to work as macros?

Generally that event has to go to the application the driver has focused on. If you are trying to send it to the desktop, that is unsupported. What application are you trying to send it to?

I am actually interested in getting F2 to work in a software called Spatial Analyzer published by New river Kinematics. The F2 key calls up a selection list in that software, I keep having to take one hand off the space pilot to use the F2 key.

If the software supports the SpacePilot natively it should work. If the 3DxWare GUI changes to a config for the application when the application comes in focus, it is supported natively.

Some applications do handle the keyboard in nonstandard ways. Try editing the config file for your application and changing MACRO_MECHANISM from 0 to 1 and retry it.
