Odd navigation in Maya 8.5

Post by MizzardKR »

I've noticed that in scenes with heavy geometry, where frame rates drop, my spacepilot frequently won't respond correctly. For example, if I want to spin right, it will go left.

This isn't a critical problem because I can hide objects, or view only selected objects, but it is frustrating. Is there any way around this?

Hi MizzardKR,

what CPU do you use? Navigating with the normal mouse does not show any heavy lags in these scenes?

The mouse still lags in a heavy scene, but hardly as much. In fact it eventually becomes easier to just use a mouse.

My CPU isn't great (3.2 P4), and upgrading would probably solve this, but I was wondering if there was any short term "band-aid" solution.
