Inventor 2008 and custom buttons

Our CAD guys are currently having problems setting custom button settings on their SpaceTraveler's. They can change the buttons assignments in the 3D control Panel but after a while they disappear.

Dell Precision 650/670 workstations
Windows XP SP2
Inventor 2008 Suite/Pro SP2
3dconnexion Spacetraveler with V3.5.6 drivers

There is a thread on the Autodesk forum about this with other people having the same issue:-

Hi Paul,

The Buttons should be mapped using our Button Mapping Editor Panel, not our generic Control Panel. You can add the Plug-In to the toolbar by clicking on

Code: Select all

View -> Toolbar -> 3DxInventor

Mant thanks for your help with this. Got the CAD guys to try this and it seems to have worked.
