Latest Drivers 3-31-08 SideBySide Error

I recently installed the latest drivers 3/31/08 and I get a SideBySide error when starting 3d Studio Max 9 or 2008.

Could the Debug build have been posted to the site by accident?

The searches I did seemed to point towards that being the culprit. Any one else have this issue?

I forgot to mention that I am running under Vista 64 and both versions of Max are 64bit versions.

Hi Paul,

Do you see an appropriate entry in the event log? Please post the event-log entry if possible.

Here is what I copied from the event viewer...

Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2008\stdplugs\3dxstd.dlu". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.CRT,processorArchitecture="amd64",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.762" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.

Paul,

Please download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64).
Do you still get this error after installing the runtime?

That was it.

This is a new system and I thought that was installed when I installed max 2008.
