Space Navigator assign keys

Sorry, but I have no nerves anymore.

Dear friends from 3dconnexion,

why do you supply such a sh... to your customers?!

The last good 3d manipulator was Space Mouse Plus. I began to work with it in 2005 whithout any problems. After installation there were no problems. I could assign to the buttons everything I wanted. I'm left-handed so the ergonomy of Space Mouse Plus was perfect for me because I have to use the space mouse with right hand.
Then came Windows 7 and surprise from 3dconnexion - no drivers for Space Mouse Plus on Win7.
I began to work with Space Pilot. Ergonomy was bad, work efficiency decreased. Nethertheless, I could work somehow with it. With button customization were no problems.
Now, new company - new Space Mouse Pro. Ergonomy is better. Button customization is terrible. I have managed to assign almost all functions to the buttons I need, but only one I can't - ENTER. I can assign instead of that Skype, Media Player, Mail and another stuff which designer doesn't need at all.

I just want to assign simple function - ENTER, for the button number 4! I can't do it.

If Catia window is active I can't assign any functions in 3DxWare.

If somebody could help I would be very thankful.

Hi Damian,

I am sorry that you encounter problems with your SpacePilot Pro. In Catia the buttons have to be mapped within Catia itself. You should get the appropriate window when you press the MENU button on your 3D mouse.

The Button Customization dialog box can be accessed from the 3Dx Device toolbar or by pressing the menu button on the device (default button mapping).

• To assign a command, simply drag the desired command icon from one of Catia’s toolbars and drop it in the box to the right of the desired 3Dconnexion device button.
• To map a Catia command that is not visible on a toolbar, right click on the desired box and select “Get Command,” select the desired command and press “Ok.”
• To map a 3Dconnexion driver command, such as the Virtual NumPad, right click the box and select “Driver Command,” select the desired command and press “Ok.”
• Default button mapping can be restored by pressing the Restore… button.
• To restore or delete an individual button’s mapping right click the box and select either “Default” or “Delete.”
• Multiple configurations can be created using the New button, allowing environment specific configurations. These can be selected using the drop down menu.
• The second page of the dialog box can be accessed by pressing the Next Page button at the bottom of the menu.
• When in the Button Customization Dialog box, hold down a button on the 3Dconnexion device to highlight and show what command is mapped. Holding down one of the function keys will show what commands are mapped while in Catia.

thank you very much for answer.

I have already assigned the functions to the buttons by this way (within Catia).

I still can't find out how to assign the Enter to one of the button. Within Catia there is no Enter-command.

I remember, in SpacePilot I have assigned it within catia as driver command because it was available in 3DxWare.

In Space Mouse PRO I can't find it on 3Dx Command List. I can assign Enter for any buttons within another programs but for Catia it's not available.

Is there any possibility to have the Enter on Sapce Mouse Pro during work with Catia?

If not, is it possible to include it in new driver release? Could you please forward this request to you programmers?

Any news about the fix for return key?
The arrow keys are also missig! Please fix this, the old driver was so much better, everything could be assigned to the buttons, now almonst nothing works anymore.

Did anyone find a workaround yet??
without enter, and arrow down key to switch through the layers when working in assemblies, it isn't fun anymore to work with the mouse. For everthing i need the keyboard now.

The workaround for a SpaceNavigator with Catia would be to use our legacy driver - 3DxSoftware 3.18.0.

I liked the nice look and the easy access to the functions in catia but now i've installed 3dx software 3.18.0 again and it's fine,
hope you fix the problemes in the newer one soon so i can upgrade again, thanks in advance!

Hi there to everyone,
I bought a 3D device from 3Dconnexion company. I´m engineer and I get used to work with CATIA Dassault sistems software. At first you must CLOSE CATIA.

If you have this device and you would like to add Control buttom to your device into CATIA software go into your computer to C:\Users\"YourUser"\AppData\Roaming\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfg and you will find an .xml file called "CATIA.xml". Now, restart CATIA software and enjoy!
