The Maya plug-in is part of the driver DMG. Open the DMG and go to the "Additional Plug-Ins" folder. There you'll find the plug-in and installation instructions

I'm also having trouble getting the SpaceExplorer working with the Maya 8.5 PLE. On startup, these errors come up:
// Warning: Move Camera //
// Warning: Rotate around center of the scene/object! //
// Warning: Fly mode on! //
// Warning: Rotation Scale 1 //
// Warning: Translation Scale 1 //
// Error: Unable to dynamically load : C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya 8.5 Personal Learning Edition/bin/plug-ins/3DxMaya.mll
The specified procedure could not be found.
//
// Error: The specified procedure could not be found.
//
// Error: The specified procedure could not be found.
(3DxMaya) //
// Warning: No Magellan device found. Start 3DxWare and then restart Maya
//
If I go into the Plug-in Manager and try to load "3DxMaya.mll" manually, the following error pops up in a dialog:
The procedure entry point ??1MObject@@QAE@XZ could not be located in the dynamic link library FOUNDATION.dll.
I assume it's looking at the foundation.dll that is located here:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya 8.5 Personal Learning Edition\bin
The 3DxMaya.mll plugin is located here:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya 8.5 Personal Learning Edition\bin\plug-ins

Any thoughts on why this is happening? Has anyone encountered a simlar problem?

Thanks.

Hi,

Unfortunately the PLE edition of Maya does not support Plug-ins - please see also here:

Code: Select all

It is not possible to load plug-ins from the commercial version of Autodesk Maya or third party plug-ins or other versions of Autodesk Maya Personal Learning Edition.

Hmmm, I was beginning to suspect it had something to do with that.

Oh well, I should at least be able to use it at work.

Thanks!
