Problems with space mouse plusXT usb

Would anyone know of my SpaceMouse plus XT supported on a Windows XP 64 on solidworks 2008 64bit

for some unknown reason solidworks crashes randomly when this mouse is plugged in....

What Service pack of 08 are you running?
Are you using the current driver package 3.6.4?
When it crashes what mode etc are you in ?

I would contact Tech support. Have the logfile handy. You can locate the file by going to:

C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Application Data\3Dconnexion\3DxWare

Also locate the Solidworks crash log file as well.
