I have tried it in all 8 - on Board USB ports... exsactly the same as users in the linked thread. Clicking driver or 3dcontrol panel does nothing. I have turned off my firewall as well, no help

Can you install the driver under administrator?
Also temporarily turn off the firewall and disconnect from network while doing this then see if driver starts.

One more thing:

Please open a command window (some people call that DOS window) and try to start 3Dxsrv.exe from a command line. Do you get an error message this way?

If so, please send the error message to:

forum@3dconnexion.com

If not, please switch-on the "Write Log File" (under Extras) function and send the generated 3DxWare.log file to the same address. The file will be stored under the path:

C:\Program Files\3Dconnexion\3Dconnexion 3DxSoftware

In the command window I typed - START 3Dxsrv.exe. Is this the right syntax? It said there was no such file

Browse to the 3dxsrv.exe file and try to launch it.

C:\Program Files\3Dconnexion\3Dconnexion 3DxSoftware\3DxWare

Are you running any spyware software such as Spysweaper?
If so try disabling this and see if driver launches.

d. Click File, Save and save the file to your desktop.
f. Exit msinfo32
Please also include a logfile:

Code: Select all

Thank you for sending the files.
It seems that your SpaceNavigator is recognized by device manager but it is listed as "Problem Device". Have you installed any special driver for your device in the past?

Please verify that the Hidclass.sys, Hidparse.sys, and Hidusb.sys files are in the Windows\System32\Drivers folder.

What versions do these files have?
