hi there, i am interested in buying a new 3d mouse, but I would like it to work as a scrolling device in things like internet explorer and excel, and also pan and zoom in 2008+ autocad, do these products do this stuff?
i currently use nx5 and autocad as well as the usual microsoft applications and it would be awesome if the device worked elsewhere
i currently use an astroid which is good but very basic
sorry if the information is displayed elsewhere but I couldnt find it
Thanks, Pete
Using 3d mice to scroll

If it helps, I modified one of the sample programs to send arrow key events for tilting, as well as ctrl-minus and ctrl-plus for zooming. (As well as driving the mouse pointer). It isn't anywhere near as seamless as native support, but it works. I might be able to get it in a form that you could use.
Would anyone be interested in it?

Pete,
If you are using a 3D Connexion controller with a USB connection, there is a legacy plug-in that can be downloaded from:
http://www.3dconnexion.com/support/downloads.php
select the "Office plug-in".
Please note that this is a legacy plug-in and is no longer supported. It may or may not allow scrolling with MS Office applications with existing 3dx drivers.
