Is there an "easy" way to set the center of rotation with the Sapce Navigator in Inventor 2011? The way you do it, without the space navigator is to hold down F4 and left click where you want your center. I tried to record a macro for one of the navigator's buttons to do this, but there doesn't seem to be a way to record holding the F4 button down.
It would be really awesome if I could just hold one of the navigator's buttons down, and then left mouse click where I want my center...but it doesn't appear that there is currently a way to do this...
Anyone have any suggestions? Or possibly a workaround?

You're right that you can record an F4 keypress in Custom Functions, but what it would do is generate the command a single time rather than emulating holding down F4. Unfortunately there is currently not a way to to that .
There is a function in Inventor called "Rotate" in the ‘View’ category of the Inventor button mapping which you can use to assign rotation but it doesn't provide the same function as the standard mouse. Navigation in Inventor is implemented by the application rather than by the 3Dconnexion software as it is in an application like SolidWorks.
