Space Mouse Driver 10.8.4 driver problems in 3ds Max

I recently upgraded my 3ds Max software and required a driver update for my space-mouse pro wireless. After uninstalling the former version and installing 10.8.4 the mouse seemed to be working but awkwardly. I hit the menu button and got an error message. I then openned the 3dconnexion app via the start menu and tried making adjustments to the various axes and speeds. ANY time I made an adjustment to a speed slider, I got the following error message:

"Exception: The type initializer for "TDx.SmartUi.app" threw an exception."

Now even opening the app via the start menu seems to have stopped working.
I now have my hands tied behind my back in 3ds Max.

Help?

Reset the settings, have look at the screenshot of 3DxWare settings panel.
