Hello,
Just got a Spacemouse and a Cadmouse compact.
Both are working fine out of the box except I can't seem to assign keystrokes to any button on any of the devices. I mean, in the settings it takes the assignment, but in the application it doesn't work, reverts back to the default. Same thing happens on the radial menus.
So I did some research here and one suggestion was to update the firmware on both devices. I updated the firmware successfully on the CADmouse to 1.20. However when I go look at the Spacemouse's under "Tools", it reports 0.00. I tried to update twice and get errors. First time it says "Failed to open HID device" and second time it says "Segmentation fault". It was connected via cable for the update, otherwise using the dongle.
Also any suggestions on how to get the keystrokes to work? Thanks.

Re: Spacemouse Wireless reports firmware 0.00, update fails Keystroke assignment issues.
Try connecting your SpaceMouse Wireless (SMW) with a cable directly to the system: the panel should report "4.41".
The firmware version is not available when using an SMW over a wireless connection. I agree the panel should be more explicit about that.
Firmware v. 4.41 is the latest revision for the SMW. There is no need to update the device firmware.

Right, thanks.
What about not being able to assign any keystrokes to the radial menus under KiCad? Any configuration input into the control panel is ignored inside KiCad. Thanks.

I have the same issue.
I'm trying to understand the firmware.
But with the cable connection The computer doesn't recognize the device.
Computer: MacBook pro 2014.
System : Macos Big Sur 11.6
SpaceMouse wireless.
The problem is the same on a M1 with Monterey 12.6.3
I have a Problem with Archicad; I can't see the radial button menu and the movement is not fluent. Old problem never solved in many year. I'm trying to upgrade the firmware
Thank you
