Non-default settings make space mouse stop working.

Post by billy_joule »

I'd like my space mouse to function in MS office 365 (& else where) the same as it does with the default Solidworks settings (ignoring rotational movements).

Default SW scheme:

Where translations of the mouse = translations on the screen (& rotations of mouse = rotations on screen)

The default excel control is that translations of the mouse = no effect, rotations of the mouse = translations on screen

The excel defaults with my desired controls overlaid:

Changing to what I would expect would be what I need below, makes the mouse stop working all together. Buttons work, but no screen motion from mouse translation or rotation.

In fact, simply ticking either of the zoom direction radio buttons causes the whole thing to stop working also.

I've used space mice for almost a decade, and I feel like I've done this in the past now basically any deviation from the defaults renders the the whole thing inoperable.

I'm using windows 10 pro OS build 19045.2846, a spacemouse compact FW 4.37, 3DxWare 10.8.12.3545, 3dxWinCore 17.8.12.1999 (showing as up to date.)

Are you making changes to XML files manually, or using our GUI?
In any case, zip up and send me the contents (and subdirectories) of
%appdata%\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfg
This is where the changes you make are saved.

Thanks.

I've 'reset all settings' in the GUI to eliminate anything I may have done inadvertently.

Presumably this resets all changes in the Cfg folder?

I've then ticked the zoom 'Forward/backward' button as per my first post. Sane result as previously described.

I've zipped the Cfg folder, it's 556KB, which is too large to attach. a bit of testing tells me the attachment file limit is around 300KB on this forum.
