Hi, 1st time here with a problem.
I used to use an older HP SpacePilot on my home computer with SE Community version with no problems.
Then i purchased a SpacePilot Pro to use on my SE 2021 full version at work.
Have changed roles at work and therefore brought the SpacePilot Pro home to use on the 2023 Community version.
I tried updating the drivers, and now i can get nothing to work with either device.
During the installation of the drivers i get the following message, "3Dxsolidedge.msi" file cannot be found.
Then the installation program closes.
Where do i find this file?
Which firmware version should i be using?
thanks

Re: Solid Edge problems
Use 7-zip to open the 3DxWare driver executable file, you'll find the '3Dxsolidedge.msi' file.

Re: Solid Edge problems
thanks for the reply, but still haven't found the file.
I downloaded the 10.6.3, which is the latest for the controller.
right clicked, and extracted to folder, run the .exe file and this is what i get - it wont let me continue to install if i click OK

Re: Solid Edge problems
Then consider upgrading the 3Dconnexion hardware to the latest SpaceMouse product line, so that you can exploit the latest 3DxWare driver with Solid Edge plug-in support.

Re: Solid Edge problems
Took your advise and bought a SpaceMouse Wireless,
now i have 3 things that don't work...
tried installing the drivers and still get the same error, missing "3Dxsolidedge.msi" file.
it starts to install, cannot the find the file, then uninstalls itself.
any ideas?

1. KNOWN ISSUES
---------------
- "Design & Drafting" license
Due to limitations in the Solid Edge API when using a "Design & Drafting" license, some add-in features are unavailable.
The option "Auto rotation center" for Assembly documents is disabled.
The units are always shown in the metric system (SI) and not as defined in the document's "File Properties".
Furthermore, when a document is being edited "in-place":
a) The commands "Select Rotation Point" and "Select Rotation Axis" are disabled;
b) The option "Keep in view" is unavailable;
c) The feature "Zoom to point" is unavailable.
- Solid Edge ST
Support for Solid Edge ST (application version 100.0) is available in add-in version 2.13 and higher.
In Solid Edge ST, the command category "Menu" is not available on the Button Mapping panel. This is because the application user interface no longer has a standard menu control.
Also in Solid Edge ST, the user may assign any command available on the application "ribbon" to any of the 3D mouse reprogrammable buttons. Commands that cannot be found in the ribbon should first be added to the "Quick Access Toolbar" using the "Customize" panel of Solid Edge.
2. REQUIREMENTS
---------------
This section lists the minimum requirements for the use of the "3Dconnexion Add-In for Solid Edge".
- Application version
Siemens PLM Solid Edge V18 to ST9
- General System Requirements
As specified for Siemens PLM Solid Edge.

Re: Solid Edge problems
Thanks
I must be a complete moron, I cannot get this to work.
Downloaded the latest, 10-8-12 exe file.
right clicked and extracted to a folder in the :C drive/program:s folder.
open the folder, contains a lot of *.msi files including the required "3DxSolidEdge64.msi" file.
if i click the "install.exe" it starts to install,
then it still asks for the "3DxSolidEdge64.msi", so i point it to the extracted file location that's in "C drive/programs" folder,
then it just gives the same errors as above.
On Monday i'll just box it up and return to shop, and throw the others in the bin, it should not be this complicated to install.
