How to initialize with Sketchup?

Post by Ralphxyz »

My 3D SpacePilot Pro worked with Sketchup 2019.
But does not work with Sketchup 2023.
How do I initialize/connect Space Pilot Pro and Sketchup 2023?

The current 3DxWare driver version 10.8.12 supports SketchUp versions from 2014 to 2022. So you may have to wait for the next 3DxWare driver update.

A clarification on my previous reply regarding the 3DxWare SketchUp version support after getting a private message from 3Dconnexion company's Mr. Amro that the current v10.8.12 do supports SketchUp 2023, I downloaded the latest Release_Notes-Windows-20230303.PDF driver release notes and confirmed as below:
1.4 Document History
Version 11.1
• Adds information on support for version 2023 of Trimble SketchUp Pro (desktop) added in
v. 10.8.11 of 3DxWare 10, released November 30th, 2022. No changes to software.

If you have installed 3DxWare v10.8.12 from scratch, find the 3DxSketchup.rb file on your local disk, right click and send to 3DxSketchUp.zip as compressed zipped file, change the file extension from zip to rbz as 3DxSketchUp.rbz, copy the 3DxSketchUp.rbz file to C:\Program Files\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\3DxSketchUp folder, run SketchUp and go to add-in/plug-in manager, install the plug-in/add-in by pointing to C:\Program Files\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\3DxSketchUp\3DxSketchup.rbz file, ignore any prompt window of plug-in/add-in not singed warning. If this doesn't help, just use 7-zip to extract 3DxSketchUp64.msi from the 3DxWare v10.8.12 driver installer, and manually double-click to install the plug-in.

10.8.3 is the last update for the Pilot Pro.
Discussion of newer driver is not needed as the newest drivers do not apply.

Support for SketchUp 2023 is available since v. 10.8.11 of 3DxWare 10, published in November last. See this post.
