SketchUp keeps on dropping the Camera mode in favor of Target Camera mode.

Post by sunflovver »

I work in SketchUp and often switch between parallel projection and perspective. I feel comfortable with the CAMERA mode. It is really annoying that when I switch back to perspective, I have to manually turn off the TARGET CAMERA. Is there a way to disable the target camera in perspective?

I think a few years ago there was no Target camera mode in SketchUp. Life was better then.

If you're using "Camera" (or "Fly" mode) in a perspective view and then switch it to orthogonal projection, the software has to change to "target camera since that's the closest mode than can be used in a parallel projection (the camera cannot "fly" in a parallel projection, only target camera will work).

well, that's really annoying, especially considering that it was not happening in the early releases

Are you positive about that? We have had this behaviour since around mid-2019, over four years ago now.
