If I got that right it only said up to macOS 13.

I have Sonoma 14.1 now and just can say that the new driver installation
stalls for me after half of component registration.
Tried it 2 times with a reboot in between.

I have installed it since macOS 13 and updated it now. The mouse works in the viewer but it jerks. MacOS 13 was smooth

I finally got it installed.

Not sure what really helped ..... but,
I deleted and manually re-added all 3D connection settings from Apple Settings / Privacy
and started the Settings /3DConnection driver settings.
At one point I was finally asked again to allow another one of the 3DCon Apps privacy
settings and driver settings showed 10.8.2 now.
Also the driver installer dialog had finished successfully at this point and I had to reboot again.

ill wait some more months until there is an official statement from 3Dconnexion.
Last time I updated Mac OS to Ventura on Day one things didn't work anymore. not sure if they have already made some tests with it. Guess they are months behind as usual with providing compatibility. 3Dconnexion drivers are the most problematic I've ever had in my hole Mac life. Every updates make me so damn nervous.

Well I had Sonoma Public Beta since July.

I only use the original CADMouse and not use the original Space Navigator
on my M1 Mini. I did not notice any differences with Sonoma.
Means AFAIK there were Apps that would not react to my button assignments
but AFAIK that was already pre Sonoma.

Thank god I am pretty independent from 3DCon devices as I am usually pretty ok
with any default mouse+keys in App View Navigation.
It is just when I use my Cintiq in real tablet mode with pen input. And some CAD Apps
do not offer reasonable zoom option when without having a scroll wheel.
But 3DCon devices did not help much in the situation though.

I just read on the forum from C4D posts by accident that there is a new driver.
Currently we have official Sonoma 14.1, but at least for me the driver install went wrong.
And I did not test if it works anything better or worse.
AFAIK it has C4D updates only anyway.

So if you rely on 3DCon and have priority on a reliable system, it is a good idea to wait
at least 3 months.
Yes, 3DConnexion drivers remind me also on my past Windows XP or 2000 times.
While Wacom drivers let me feel like a Mac user.

When Enterprise on Mac shows finally App Icons on display on Mac, I may plug it in.
As not, it collects dust plugged into the PC, which when ever booted at all,
I rather boot into Linux Elementary than into Windows 11 anyway.
And I doubt Enterprise would work in any way with the last nice 2014 Linux driver.
3 years ago or so I tested on Linux last time and none of my 3 3DCon devices were
even physically recognized in Manjaro, Tumbleweed or Elementary.

I have installed Sonoma 14.0;
The workaround to update to the 3DxWare 10.8.2 driver is to manually force quit 3Dconnexion Helper from Activity Monitor

I have tried unsuccessfully to install on macOS Sonoma 17.1 (Release) but I never get the prompt to allow 3DConnexionHelper in Privacy and Security.

I have tried uninstalling - and uninstall with CleanMyMacX and all kind of other ways to "force" macOS to see 3DConnexionHelper. But nothing seem to work.

Any ideas?

AFAIR for me it helped to delete all 3DConnexion entries in Privacy and Security
and going to 3DCon Driver Settings.

This company is not very reliable with their driver updates.

It's the worst I have ever known. It's horror if you need those devices and a new Mac OS drops. Or any update to something related.
It's never been better since I use those things, and that's almost 15 years I think.

Is upgrading to Sonoma so still a high risk low reward thing?
Sadly 3DConnexion is the only thing that keeps me away from the update currently.
Im am 99% sure I won't work anymore after.

Well, for me it works wit Sonoma,
in the way it always worked on Mac.

CADMouse started sporadic left click issues after 4 years of second replacement.
(missed clicks and worse, unwanted double clicks)
But that seems weather dependent, currently it works OK.

About every second macOS Public Beta update the CADMouse will be slow after
awakening macOS from sleep. Workaround is to switch between Apps.

My original Space Navigator works pretty OK.
Lately I switched to Enterprise from PC. Just to realize that the reason I put
it away to the PC was that 3DConnection devices sometimes interrupt system sleep.
As you can switch of the blue LEDs, you usually do not notice. But with the
Enterprise, it will switch on its display in this case and stay on.

But nothing new related to Sonoma.

I had no issues on Mac with Wacom drivers, even when upgrading macOS,
during the last (10 ?) years.
But unfortunately, their latest new driver is now sketchy too ....

Having experienced this same 10.8.2 driver install on Sonoma, I then tried a different approach that worked. Run the uninstall program from the 3D Connexion folder first, restart, then install the 10.8.2 driver. This method appears to get around the install hanging up on the "Running package scripts..." and not seeing the SpaceMouse or CADMouse in properties. Hope this helps!
