macOS Sonoma

Re: macOS Sonoma
10.7.0 is ready for installation, and ok.
But despite several installation/uninstallations, the authorization request window keeps opening every time the Mac boots.
In any case, this driver still doesn't allow me to program my own shortcuts on the spacemouse button.
Enough wasted time for today.

Re: macOS Sonoma
Did you reboot the system when requested to do so?
If after rebooting the warning panel still comes up, then the installation of the system extension is corrupted. Perhaps that happened quite some time ago in your case and that's why you cannot "allow" the extension.
Please follow the instructions on the FAQ article linked from that panel (and here). If further assistance is needed, please contact 3Dconnexion's customer service (see link in the warning panel or click here).
Re: macOS Sonoma
Thanx for yor help.
This problem has been going on since January 2024, and support has never been able to help anyone with it...
https://forum.3dconnexion.com/viewtopic.php?t=53732
But I've found a workaround.
- uninstall (with your tool)
- install version 10.7.0
- Unplug space mouse
- reboot
- install version 3DxWareMac_v10-8-6_r3819
I'm now on the latest driver version
All that's left to do is delete the window asking for authorizations, since the driver has them and works.
I used to delete the 3Dconnexion home application and the problem was solved.
But now you've locked it in a folder I don't have the rights to...
Any solution?

Re: macOS Sonoma
The window that you are "deleting" is trying to help you. It is warning you that there is a problem with the system extension installation.
Unless you enable the system extension, the driver will not properly over even at all. Might as well not install the driver.
Try following the instructions on that panel: the panel explains that you need to go to the System Settings and "allow" the extension. If you are using some sort of software that blocks system extension (like Jamf), you need to configure it to allow the system extension to load and run.
Re: macOS Sonoma
However, the driver seems to be loaded and working
No ? Wouldn't that be a false positive?
Or should it be enabled in preferences?
it's enabled everywhere I can think of.
Did I miss something?
Cheer up, we're almost there

Re: macOS Sonoma
That's what a "corrupted" system extension installation can look like. It is one of the reasons why it took us so long to address the "installation stuck" issue.
You have an old system extension installed. This is an invalid configuration (corrupted installation). The warning panel is correctly indicating that there is a problem.
You should be able to sort this out on your own but you will need to temporarily disable the System Integrity Protection (SIP). It is very important to re-enable SIP towards the end of the procedure outlined below.
- Using the "3DconnexionUninstaller" program, uninstall 3DxWare 10 from your system.
- Reboot.
- In a Terminal window, run the program:
Code: Select all
systemextensionsctl list
- You will notice that it still returns an entry for the "com.3dconnexion.dext" system extension. This indicates you have a corrupted installation of the system extension.
- Open this FAQ article and follow the instructions for "SOLUTION 2" (remember to re-enable SIP at the end of that process).
- After rebooting the system back to normal mode, run the above command in Terminal again: this time the system extension entry should not appear.
- Install v. 10.8.6 of 3DxWare 10 (or whatever is the latest available version).
- Reboot when prompted at the end of the installation.
- After signing back in, the system will prompt you to enable the system extension: select "Open System Settings" and "Allow" the system extension from 3Dconnexion.
- The warning panel shown by the 3Dconnexion Home program should then close automatically.
- The shortcuts that were not working for you should now work fine.
Re: macOS Sonoma
BRAVO/BRAVI!
I followed the uninstallation of the ext. by deactivating the SIP and I was able to click on the window that created lots of authorizations in the system prefs.
And even my shortcuts work
It's long and tedious, but at last, after a year, I've got my lost functions back.
You know what ? I'm happy
(I'll have to do that on the other machines...)
THANK YOU

Re: macOS Sonoma
Good to know. Thanks for persevering and going through the recovery process.
As a reminder, please make sure you have enabled the System Integrity Protection (SIP). You can check by running the following command in a Terminal window (the command output should be "enabled"):
Code: Select all
csrutil status
With the changes to the installer in v. 10.8.6, the issue is mitigated since it is easier to find the "3DconnexionUninstall" program.
Finally, if you wish to stop "3Dconnexion Home" from showing up when you sign in, clear the "Always show..." ("Toujours afficher...") check box on the bottom of the window and exit the program.
Re: macOS Sonoma
Here, it started to jam with the installation of an SDK in 10.6.4 or 3... 2019? but on old spacepilot pro that had to be “tinkered with” to be recognized by software plugins through VMware
Thanks, SIP is enable.
Without wishing to insist, is it possible to use the joystick to scroll UP/DOWN in browsers?
I've made lots of shortcuts, and this is the only one I can't get to work.
It's great to be able to use both hands everywhere
All I need now is the smart wheel (like MX) on the Cadmouse and I'll be redoing my whole desktop in 3Dconnexion.
Have a nice WE, thanks again
