how do you make it work again, Imac and Sketchup

Please can someone walk me through how to get space mouse to work with my Mac, I have a new ish setup and can't get it going.
I have iMac 2019 on Mojave 10.14.4 and need to work with Sketchup 2022. tried lots of driver instals but can't make it work.

I know there is a magic sequence of things to do but can't remember. annoyingly works fully on the engine viewer but not on the tea pot WTH
