I recently purchased a Space Mouse and installed the latest software/driver. The installation was quick and easy, but now I'm stuck with the message that the 3Dconnexion system software is not allowed to load. It seems that the way to solve this is not up to date with the latest MacOS (I'm running 14.6.1). The open Security & Privacy button doesn't show the image in the popup. I've also tried reinstalling the software (10.8.3), but that didn't help.
Did I just buy an expensive LED paperweight? Or is there a solution to this problem?

Re: Software is not allowed to load
Are you on an intel mac or M series?
From the looks of it, they are digging into some issues with the latest version of Mac OS 15 (Sequoia) so maybe hold tight for an update.
I am running 14.5 on an M1 w/ 3DxWare 10.8.4 and have things partially working. The axes functionality for "Any Application" does not work, but a few other apps on the list do work. From what I can see there might be differences in compatibility for x86/arm macs as well.
Overall the implementation on Mac OS seems to have some holes- I am guessing this is due to the operating system's strict security policies
Let's hope there is a 10.8.5 update with fixes for mac soon
And let us know what hardware you are running (x86/arm)

Re: Software is not allowed to load
Thanks for the reply!
I'm using an M1 MB Pro with MacOS 14.6.1 and the latest 3DxWare driver. The hardware is responsive and acts like a normal mouse, but the driver doesn't recognize the hardware and keeps telling me it can't load. The software has created a new settings item so it partially works, but all the demos etc. don't work. I feel like the notification is also based on an older MacOS installation. There seems to be a hacky way of going around this, but I don't feel comfortable going into recovery mode and doing Terminal stuff. So far, the experience hasn't been all that good tbh... But from what I can tell, it's the only company that has 3D product interface hardware...

Re: Software is not allowed to load
Has there been an older installation of 3DxWare driver on the computer?
Has the macOS been migrated by using the backup of an older Mac?

Re: Software is not allowed to load
Thanks for the reply and sorry for the late one from my side (on holiday)
No, I have not installed any oder software and the Mac has been a clean instal (company device)
The newer software does add an entry in the accessibility tab and the loaded items, but it still gives me the notification.
