Cadmouse Rubber peeling

Post by Guifergon »

I've been using the CadMouse for over 4 years, the ergonomics of the CadMouse was a game changer for my fingers and wrist pain. It fits right on my small hand size, it's the most confortable mouse I ever used. Unfortunately they don't last long, the rubber that covers the sides of it start to degrade in a matter of a few month. I had 2 of then in a period of 4 years, each one lasted 2 years after the rubber stars falling off and feel so uncomfortable that is impossible to work with it. I'm very careful of my gear, they really last for very long time, but that isn't the case with CadMouse.

To bad I didn't kept the first one that was in far worst shape with also the metallic paint peeling off, but these are pics for the second one I'm currently using. The thumb bottom side is starting to fall off and feeling uncomfortable to hold. Would be good at least if 3Dconnexion have spare parts to replace, I't brakes my heart to throw away (recycling center) a functional device just for the bad materials choise from the company.

On the good side, I don't have any issues with the SpaceMouse Pro hardware (the software for Mac tho...)

Anyone experiencing the same issue? Is this a normal rate of a mouth wearing off? What solutions you have found? Any other mouse out there with the same ergonomics without the rubber issues?

It's consumer electronics, it has a limited lifespan by design. The solution is to invest in/buy the new model: CadMouse Pro.
