Spacemouse Serial Plus Windows 8 64 bit Solidworks 2013 64

Adapted from various advice on this forum I got it working;
(note that some of the versions specified in other posts are no longer available. the versions I specify here are currently available)

1. 3DxWare serial driver from 3DxSoftware64 2.8.2; unzip and install
3DxSoftware64_v2-8-2\components\3DxWare\3Dconnexion 3DxWare.msi
(as discussed in viewtopic.php?t=3828)

2. Change Start menu shortcut of "Start Driver" to specify using appropriate com port

"C:\Program Files\3Dconnexion\3Dconnexion 3DxWare\3dxsrv.exe" -com 1

3. Solidworks plugin from 3DxSoftware 3.8.2; unzip file and install
\3DxSoftware_v3-8-2\3DxSoftware\components64\3DxSolidWorks\3DxSolidWorks64.msi
(as in the first post but with newer version)
