Re: Direct Input axis format
In that case I think I'll install Unity, lots of cool games using it. DI data from old Space Navigator (firmware 4.04) Identifier 0463beef (046d vendor, beef product) hmm, maybe it's high in protein! Device type FirstPerson (HID's multi-axis) Axis count 7 (where's the 7th?) Button count 4 (where are...

Re: Physical throw shape
I started playing with Windows game controllers and made a few throw boundary discoveries of the Space Navigator Windows start -> Game controllers -> properties button Exe: rundll32.exe Translations: 0.37 scale Rotations: 0.37 scale -You can maximize 1 axis at a time, but not 2 or more simultaneousl...

Re: Direct Input axis format
I should use Unity, it appears to be a popular engine for games these days, along with the Unreal engine. Are these Unity downloads on a trial period? https://unity3d.com/get-unity/download/archive Thanks, I'll try out the builds on the various 3DMice I have and see if I get different results. I got...

Re: Direct Input axis format
I have 2 different Space Navigators (different firmwares.) Do you have a test program for rewired I could try, that shows direct input readings you get from the controllers? I remember in Chrome before they fixed it, I'd get different value ranges from each of the Space Navigators. Perhaps also one ...

Re: Direct Input axis format
Sorry, I must have missed the 'my' in front of 'rewired input plugin for unity' link! I just figured that Overload solely relied on Rewired by looking at the version update, I see now that I was mistaken. I'm surprised that the 3DMouse worked in the first release version, maybe via Direct Input. I'v...

Re: Direct Input axis format
Space Navigator is supported on Windows, OSX, and Linux according to the chart here http://guavaman.com/projects/rewired/docs/SupportedControllers.html Overload uses Rewired in Unity, and it works well with a Space Navigator https://playoverload.com/overload-version-0-9-build-117-now-steam/ I have e...

Aspirant and Masterson, this link works for you?

The Space Navigator was very smooth/fluid when I tried it in Half Life 2, it all depends on your settings.

Re: Spacenavigator for Gaming
I just got 4 modern 6DOF games (each of which has VR as an option) working with the most recent KMJ driver and Space Navigator. Overload (from the creators of Descent 1&2) Descent Underground (early access version, still in development) Sub Level Zero (6DOF game with procedurally generated envir...

Re: Physical throw shape
I suppose that when extending to 3D the 3DMouse physical throw shape is actually cylindrical (the shape of the stoppers) rather than spherical. The only way to get maximum input was to clamp the 3DMouse to prevent it from sliding on the table, so while doing the testing I clamped it by holding it wi...

Re: Spacenavigator for Gaming
I hope so! As it has no buttons, is there an accessory to plug the USB cable into which does add buttons? Unfortunately some applications require at the very least button0 to be pressed to function at all (sometimes just to alert it of it's presence.) Is it possible to have a keyboard key or mouse b...

Physical throw shape
While tweaking a 3DMouse for Overload I've stumbled onto the realization of the circular physical throw shape. The T.16000 joystick by comparison has a square physical throw shape. I calibrated the 3DMouse so that a full left throw corresponded to a full 1.00 in the game. (0.36 OverallScale = 0.99, ...

Re: Spacenavigator for Gaming
What a stroke of luck, when searching for a local distributor I stumbled across one that's just a 20 minute drive away! With any luck I'll have one by this weekend. If I do manage to get one I'll probably visit Home Depot buying some parts to clamp it down.

Re: Does KMJ emulator still work?
Actually I was doing something wrong with the xml files, just recently edited them to work. KMJ emulator seems to work just fine, I'm starting to get some newer games working with 3DMice as well.

Re: Spacenavigator for Gaming
It would be nice if one could program a key on a keyboard. If a game requires a joystick button to be pressed then just have an otherwise unused key on the keyboard be that joystick button. 3DConnexion has basically been making mini-keyboards with a 3DMouse attached, why not just go all the way? htt...

Re: Can I use my Spacemouse to control a drone?
Drones move just like the 5DOF camera does in Google Earth. I've been using a GoPro drone and think it's rather silly to have one stick control horizontal movements, another stick control yaw and vertical movement, and yet another control for camera pitch control. Put all of that functionality on an...
