Re: macOS Big Sur - Beta Driver Available
Let me know if there are any other items you'd like me to check. Thank you, michaelprichard. We will take up on your offer if need be. Currently, we cannot fathom why the "allow" did not come up immediately after the installation. I had this too, the first time I installed the current bet...

Re: macOS Big Sur - Beta Driver Available
What is the holdup getting software out of beta? Getting the virtual keyboard feature working as in macOS 10.15 and older. In other words, emulating the stand-alone use of modifier keys. You sent the developers the working keyboard-emulating dext example code on Github I linked to earlier in this t...

Re: macOS Big Sur - Beta Driver Available
Oh, and taking a look inside the installer package - every sub-package is flagged as requiring a reboot - for example, 3xdsketchup.pkg - where looking at its pre and postinstall scripts, it absolutely does not.
The installer is so bad it needs flagged as full of bugs of itself.

Re: macOS Big Sur - Beta Driver Available
As it is very bad practice to force a reboot where it is not required, can the driver install logic be modified to only reboot the computer where it is strictly necessary? To put it simply, you're preaching to the choir. If we could install the driver without rebooting, we would have. As the softwa...

Re: macOS Big Sur - Beta Driver Available
I just upgraded to the new version. I previously suggested that reboots are not necessary - and you told me that they are necessary in some situations, such as upgrading from a kext-based driver version to the non-kext based version. However - this time I just upgraded from the previous beta to the ...

Re: macOS Big Sur - Beta Driver Available
Another quick question. If a kext is no longer being installed, why is a reboot still necessary? From the look of the files in the manifest in the pkg, there is nothing in there that can't be installed programmatically and without a reboot.

You need to set the joystick axes in SL prefs
Grazzla: for some reason the SL client has changed the way it interacts with the SpaceNavigator, and you need to reset the axes. I'm not at my computer right now, but it's pretty simple: in the joystick settings, the row of axes should be 0,1,2,3,4,5 in order left to right top to bottom (it may be 1...
