USB Type-C support

Re: USB Type-C support
+1 for a move to USB-C and/or Bluetooth. It's [current_year] and having connectors at all are just a nuisance.
Re: USB Type-C support
Well... sorry for spamming +1. I just canceled my 3Dconnexion CadMouse Pro Wireless order, when I saw in disbelief that they expect me to carry around a micro usb charger cable in 2022 until end of live (of the mouse )
I am happy to pay premium for quality, but not for outdated stuff.

Re: USB Type-C support
March 2023, Spacemouse wireless, dongle usb-A, 3DC, shame on you
Re: USB Type-C support
Hi, guys. I waited a long time for the adapter, and decided to make it myself from a compact adapter. I printed it on a 3D printer. Will it be interesting to buy a model for a 3D printer for $1? Photo from the link below

Re: USB Type-C support
On another note from the adapter itself, from the fcc filings:

You can see that the usb-adapter is on it's own daughter board and could easily be swapped out to a usb c daughter board. I am considering designing such a board (with the 5.2k cc resistors), because nothing should use usb micro or mini when usb c is available.
The only issue is that the bottom rubber pad is a pain to get to the screws under.

Re: USB Type-C support
Curious fact: 3Dconnexion website show an USB C Cadmouse Pro Wireless in promotional images, but it's not clear if you buy it what cable is included...
Re: USB Type-C support
Dear people,
please don't buy 3D connexion devices until they update to USB C. It's not long until this is gonna happen anyway. Thanks to new EU regulations, all devices will be needed to come with USB C connectors in the future. So just don't buy until then.
I also found this alternative: https://naya.tech/en-gb
This keyboard comes with a 3d navigaiton nob, very similar to the space mouse.

Looks like they finally came out with one that has usb-c and bluetooth.
Now do the regular spacemouse wireless.

Re: USB Type-C support
They still do not support USB C. You still need the Bluetooth Universal Receiver dongle and that is not USB-C, it is UB A. So if you have any Mac machine built in the last 5 years, you do not have USB A on your machine. So you still need an adapter for the universal receiver. I don't understand why 3D connexion cannot make their wireless devices just use Bluetooth without a dongle? Every other wireless mouse manufacturer and wireless keyboard manufacturer has devices that just connect via Bluetooth without a dongle. This is extremely frustrating. On top of that, even the USB-C charger they supply is USB-C to USB-A, not USB-C to USB-C. This thread has had people bemoaning this stretching back to 2017! For 7 years people have wanted this! Come on 3D connexion!
Re: USB Type-C support
The wait is over, 3Dconnexion is now selling SpaceMouse Wireless Bluetooth Edition on its web store, with USB-C charging port.plotpoint@mac.com wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2024 7:39 am They still do not support USB C. Re: USB Type-C support
Note the new SpaceMouse Wireless Bluetooth Edition is supplied with a USB-C to USB-A charging cable, and a USB-A receiver/dongle. I've had no need of either (no issues with bluetooth). I'd have preferred all USB-C accessories, but not a major issue.
