100% CPU usage

I have a SpaceNavigator PE. I bought this to test to see if we would like to use this corporate wide. I am replacing a Spaceball 3003.

The problem is when I start the 3dxware driver, It takes up 100% of 1 cpu. The leds turn on but the navigator does not work.

I tested this in my application as well as the demos provided by 3dconnexion.

I followed previous posts on how to completly unistall and reinstall the software, including editing the registry. I even made sure any files related to the navigator was removed from my hard drive.

I have seen similar posts to this, has anyone actually found a solution? Or should I just give up on the navigator all together as a viable solution?

What release version of 3DxSoftware do you have installed? (3Dconnexion Control Panel, Help Menu, About Item)

What is the spelling of the file name that is consuming 100% of your CPU cycles?

I am using

Release Version: 3.6.11
Driver Version 6.6.4
Firmware Version 3.18


The file that is taking up 100% of the resources (on 1 of 2 CPUS) is 3dxsrv.exe.
