Space Navigator is jumpy in Solidworks - damaged hardware??

Post by ndchope »

Hi, I'm using a Space Navigator in Solidworks '08. While moving the model around the model frequently jumps "up and right". It doesn't matter which way I'm moving the model. It happens randomly, in no specific intervals. It seems to be a hardware problem. I used a different SN for a few days and did not have any problems.

I suspect the SN might have been damaged in transport. I've carried in a courier bag to meetings a few times. Maybe some dirt got in it (I read a post that the sensors are optical and can't be damaged by movement of the controller). Any help would be appreciated. Perhaps it's a warranty issue?

Thanks

Hi ndchope,

Does the Cube 3D demo also show this behavior?
It could be that the device is damaged and needs to be replaced - please contact technical support by phone or email.
