I've been trying to install a Space Traveler but have had no luck. I can't even get it to power up. I've installed the driver and I've also followed directions to run a script to modify my USB port but that didn't seem to work.
I also read that I might need an additional power adapter.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,
we also do have a Sun Blade 2500 here in our lab. So we should get your SpaceTraveler to work!
What is your Solaris version?
In /dev/usb is there a new entry 46d.c623 (directory) when your SpaceTraveler is plugged in or are there any changes in /dev/usb if you connect/disconnect your SpaceTraveler?
Does this SpaceTraveler work on other machines?

Christian,
Here is what I get with a uname command: Generic_108528-29.
I don't see that new entry in /dev/usb nor do I see anything happen when I disconnect and connect it. Below is a list of /dev/usb if it helps.
I don't have an opportunity to try it elsewhere.
Thanks,
Jim

Hi James Capp,
Power should not be an issue with a USB device. It is more likely that you need to install the required patches for Solaris 8.
Please check the installation instructions for Solaris. You will find as a download in the same page as the Solaris driver package. Go to the download software page and follow the directions.

Hi James,
sorry for being late answering you!
Have you installed the patch "#109896-30 (requires #108725-15) or later" for Solaris 8? It looks like the device is not recognised by the system. On the other hand, there should be at least an additional entry like "hid2" or something like that, if you have your SpaceTraveler plugged in. This should be gone if you unplug the device again.
Please make sure you have the patched installed! Please also try the script
(http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/scripts/sun ... config.txt) again.
