Max 2008 with directX 10 not working

Post by Fliposide »

Hi using Max 2008 with a SpaceExplorer.
Have the latest driver, scripts etc
When you choose directX 10 as the driver, only the top left window (if in quarters) works??!

Cannot pan, rotate anything in other windows.
Have I set it up incorrectly or is the driver/script buggy for D10X it seem okay with DX9.

INFO:-
Max 2008, 32bit
Vista Prem. 32bit
latest driver as of today.
Flip out............

My first guess would be it's Max's problem. I'm using the same setup as you (32 bit 2008 / 32 bit Vista / Nvidia) and DX10 is very dodgy in max. I went back to 9 as you did in max.

According to the 3ds Max system requirements page, "DirectX 9.0c" must be installed.

I think it is, it's Vista, with DirectX 10 and I think it's retro compatible with DirectX 9 ( not sure what I'm saying, some verifications are required...)

Are you telling me to install DirectX9.0c ?

I recommend you to check with Autodesk. They know what is the correct requirements for your configuration.
