FLT5000 (serial) won't install in XP 64bit

Post by CSA »

Hi, I am trying to install a spaceball 5000 FLT in a brand new build of 64bit XP. I was previously using this device in Vista 32bit.

Windows recognises the device in device manager> 'other' as 'spaceball 5000 FLT'

When I try to install the 3Dx software v2.8.2 it seems to run through all the steps and says it finished successfully, but doesn't actually create the program group with the start/stop service or the demos.

I have tried local and domain administrator logins.

Obviously the device is not working in unigraphics NX3/5

I have tried several times to install/uninstall the software always the same.

I have even tried to point the divice directly to the coinstsb64.dll, but windows says it can't find a suitable driver.

I am really stumped, and any help is appreciated

SB5000 serial devices

CSA,
If your SB5000 is a SERIAL device, it will not function with a 64bit operating system.
Please also note that a SERIAL to USB adapter IS NOT an acceptable alternative.
