SpaceNavigator Quit working

I have a user who has a SpaceNavigator and it just quit working. I swaped it for another and the other one works. I tried the non-working one on other computers and it still does not work. Any idea what would cause this or any fixes for it? I think it is something simple, the LED's come on but the compuiter does not seem to reconize it.

I found another forum with the same problem. I did the plug and unplug with both buttons and it reconized it again...
