Not working after Solidworks last update

Post by Geff »

Hello,

I have a wireless 3Dconnexion Spacemouse with the latest driver (3DxWare64_v10-9-1_b650 dowloaded today) on Windows 11 Familly.
Since the last Solidworks update it is not responding anymore, only on Solidworks application (which is too bad because it is the only reason I need it  ).
Solidworks version is: 2025 SP0.0 _ R2025x Hotfix 0.2 SP0.0

Can you help me please ? :|

I have the same issue, my colleagues as well. Do we need to wait for a new driver to be published that supports the latest Solidworks version?

Hi.

Got the same issue. Same as last year when updating to 2024..
Try installing the following driver: Windows 10 - Driver 3DxWare64_v10-6-4_r3119
https://3dconnexion.com/us/archived-drivers/

Worked fine for me.

The current 3Dconnexion plugin extension for SolidWorks supports version 2024. A new plugin version in future 3DxWare drivers most probably will fix this.

Hello everyone.

My SpaceMouse Enterprise works OK in Solidworks 2025 with currently latest (10.9.1.650) drivers, but I cannot import or edit buttons. There is no SOLIDWORKS category in button menu, only generic ones.

I found a really weird solution.

Open Solidworks.
Open 3DConnexion software, click Buttons to assign buttons for Solidworks. There should be Solidworks in the upper left corner.
If you click > on any button there will be no SOLIDWORKS category.
Click slightly left on the command name field, "Type a shortcut..." will appear in the field.
Type any letter.
Now SOLIDWORKS category will appear in the > menu and you will be able to reassign all buttons.
Radial menus are exported and imported correctly, so only 12 buttons must be reconfigured from scratch.

Hope it helps.

Btw, is there any information about software update release date?

Test the SpaceMouse in other supported applications (e.g., Blender, Fusion 360, or the 3Dconnexion Trainer).

Ensure that your 3Dconnexion driver is compatible with SolidWorks 2025, and check if the 3Dconnexion add-in is enabled in SolidWorks. Try reinstalling the driver or rolling back the SolidWorks update to resolve any compatibility issues.

Open the 3Dconnexion Properties panel by pressing Ctrl + Shift + P or searching for 3Dconnexion in Windows.
Make sure your device is recognized and working correctly.
Test it in another application (like 3Dconnexion's Trainer or Viewer).
If it works outside of SolidWorks, the issue is likely within SolidWorks itself.

Here I am in March 2025. Just signed up for SolidWorks Makers 3DExperience to find my SpaceMouse wireless is not recognised by SW. SpaceMouse works fine in other apps, and Settings recognises when I am working in SolidWorks Window. SpaceMouse Driver is latest 10.9.3.671; Support for SolidWorks 2025 Connected was added in version 10.9.2 - Is anyone else having this issue, and what steps can I take to troubleshoot and overcome this problem?

A previous post mentioned a 3dConnection add-in for SolidWorks - not sure if this applies to Connected, but the Add-in doesn't appear in SW's Add-in manager.

If there's no addon in Solidwroks, just reinstall 3DConnection software and it will be installed. Always works for me.
