Howdy,
New user trying to get accustomed to using this new tool. I want to know if anyone knows of to get rotation locked on a part Vs the current setting which is by the current view. Almost like if it was a remote-control car and I rotated the steering it would rotate the on the same axis no matter how I was currently looking at the part??
Thank you in advance.

Howdy! Yes, what you’re looking for is typically called "world" or "global" rotation, instead of "view" or "local" rotation. Check your tool’s transform settings—look for an option to switch from “view” or “local” to “world” mode. This will lock rotation to fixed global axes, just like your RC car example.max3duser wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 9:30 am Howdy,

Re: How to Lock rotation on part not current view
To rotate a part in an assembly around its own axis you need to activate the tool by going to the `Assembly` tab > `Move Component` (drop-down menu) > `Rotate Component`. Click on the part you want to rotate in the graphics area. A triad will appear on the component. This triad represents the local coordinate system of the component. Click and drag one of the colored rings on the triad. Each ring corresponds to a rotation around a specific axis of the component's local coordinate system. You can also right-click on the center sphere of the triad and select "Show Delta XYZ Rotation Box" to enter precise angle values for rotation around each axis. If the triad is not aligned with the axis you want to rotate around, you can: Drag the center ball of the triad to reposition it. Alt + drag the center ball or an arm and drop it onto an edge, face or axis on your part to align the triad to that specific reference. You will see options like "Align to", "Align to component origin" or "Align to assembly origin".
