Hello,
I'm a new happy user of a 3d space mouse wireless, but since, in 3dsmax 2024, my "regular" mouse sometimes stops working and I can't select any object or interact in the viewport anymore. Is anyone else among you experiencing this issue?
Than you in advance.
Best regards,
Nicolas

Re: 3DS MAX viewport not responding
Congrats on the new SpaceMouse! That issue sounds frustrating—does clicking outside the viewport and back in restore functionality? Maybe there's a conflict between the SpaceMouse and your regular mouse input. You could try updating drivers or checking input settings in 3ds Max. Hopefully, a few clicks in the right settings will fix it
Re: 3DS MAX viewport not responding
Hello !
thank you for your answer
i can click anywhere in max (menus, tool bars, etc...) but not in the viewport. it's like only the 3d space mouse "has access" to the viewport....
i have to restart max to fix the issue when it happens (randomly)
driver of the logitec mx master 3s is up to date.
this is weird :/

Nicolas

Re: 3DS MAX viewport not responding
I am able to click anywhere in Max (toolbars, menus, etc.), but not in the viewport. It appears that the viewport is only "accessible" by the 3D space mouse.
Re: 3DS MAX viewport not responding
Yes, same here.
And it happens randomly... I'm working in Max with both the regular mouse and 3D Space Mouse, and boom! The regular mouse stops responding in the viewport. I restart Max, but the problem persists — it's like the file is "corrupted" (even after restarting my PC).
BUT if I turn OFF the 3D Space Mouse before launching Max, then turn it ON once Max is running, the problem seems to be solved...

Re: 3DS MAX viewport not responding
Hi All,
This issue seems to happen when i switch from camera view to perspective view....then the mouse stops working in the viewport.
Maybe a tech guy from 3D Connexion will read this message
