How to stop Mouse moving when using Spacemouse

Post by Owen »

Whilst using the Spacemouse in Autodesk inventor (and anywhere else on my system) it moves the mouse as well as sending the intended input (ie. 3D rotation, scrolling etc.)
I don't want the mouse to move only the intended input
I have toggled Desktop mode on/off but that only meant that the mouse would still move but rotation wouldn't happen
I have also attempted disabling devices under the 3Dconnexion KMJ emulator, but this has changed nothing.
Can anyone think of anything that might fix this?

Thanks in advance

Have you been editing XML files outside of %appdata%\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfg?

Please zip up all the files in that directory and email/PM them to me? If you can't email/PM (new user), post a link to them here.

Thanks,

Here is a link to the cfg files:
link to user files removed

I have been editing files in the cfg folder (as far I remember only to adjust delays on commands and to link a button to the desktop mode toggle when I was seeing if that was the problem), but I was wondering Is there a place that explains their structure/syntax? Because I don't really understand them currently.

I seem to have found the solution
After discovering that the mouse was still being controlled even when 3DxWare was not running, I assumed that it must be some other piece of software that was causing the issue.
That lead me to this reddit thread:

And the solution that worked for me was this post:

tl;dr
Steam was trying to convert inputs from the SpaceMouse (what it was reading as a games controller) into regular keyboard and mouse inputs, which could be disabled for the SpaceMouse from the steam settings.
