Ok I tried uninstalling/reinstalling maya after cleaning all registry entries related to it and that made the mouse work again, Still only works if the mouse is plugged on to a particular USB and not always along the same session (without restarting the system)

Ok I'll give it a try tonight, btw I assume the device should be connected to an USB 2.0, right? Do you know if plugging it into a 1.0 or 3.0 could modify its intended behaviour in some way?

I was running it as regular user, but trying to do it as admin takes me to the first error results on console, what is bugging me is that it wont awnser even to 3d coat anymore as well, but its working fine within the puzzle :S

reinstalled the driver, repaired it as suggested, used the wizard inside... now I have no error, now looks like maya doesnt recognize de device anymore (shows blank on the 3d connexion menu - hotkeys) the puzzle works fine, though
