3Dconnexion always says they are "working closely with Maxon" but obviously not close enough to have drivers updated and ready for shipment when a new version of Cinema 4D arrives... Just remember Apple's move from Intel to ARM - if I remember correctly, it took over a year for 3Dconnexion...

Just a quick idea... It seems that some plugins can exacerbate the slowness problem when it comes to 3D mouse navigation.
