You are correct. I do not expect my Word documents to start spinning on my screen. I do look forward to using all the buttons on the SpacePilot as much as possible since my hand is on it all day.

I had that same problem this morning. I tried every USB receptacle on the computer and i restarted and nothing... i unplugged it and called it my SW VAR. They told me they'll get back to me. So i just put it on the side disconnected and after 10 minutes I replugged it and it all worked no problems. ...

I had that problem. You have to do the following:

1. Install the current 3DxWare but NO SOLIDWORKS ADD-IN

2. Install the 4000FLX SolidWorks Add-In ONLY, NOT THE 3DXWARE


Took me and the IT guy at my last job a whole day to figure out. I am now using the SpacePilot, the 4000FLX is now a relic.
